Additionally, the 2012 Civic Sedan, Civic Coupe, and Civic GX Natural Gas employ Honda ECO Assist to increase their MPGs above their current incarnations. Both the Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe, powered by the same engine as the HF, receive a 3 MPG boost, increasing their highway MPG to 39, while the fuel economy of the Civic GX Natural Gas makes a 7% gain.
Even the sporty 2012 Civic Si sedan and coupe models, which get a power increase for 2012, also gain in the MPG department. Stocked with a bigger and more powerful new 2.4-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine that puts out 200 hp and 170 lb.-ft of torque, the Civic Si get a fuel economy increase of 2 MPG over its current form, boosting it to 31 MPG highway.
