2010 Honda Element in Miami

Available as the normal Element or the urban-styled Element SC, the original Element comes with two trim levels, the LX and EX, with 2WD and available Real Time 4WD versions of each. Control-link MacPherson strut front suspension comes on the Element, giving it superior straight-line braking stability and peerless steering response all while making its ride silky-smooth. Also included is a Drive-by-Wire throttle system that lets you perfect the engine response in order to meet both the driving conditions and your needs. The Element SC, meanwhile, features the same suspension as the regular Element, but with the added touches of bigger sway bars, a lower ride height, and stiffer springs and dampers. Both the Element and the Element SC are powered by an advanced 166-horsepower 2.4-liter 16-valve DOHC engine, complete with an aluminum-alloy block and head, a towing capacity of 1,500 lbs, and twin balance shafts for engine smoothness and quietness. Additionally, the engine features Honda i-VTEC technology, allowing for fewer emissions, even greater fuel efficiency, and a ride that is as green as it is fun.

Eye-catching and delightfully quirky, the exteriors of the 2010 Honda Element and 2010 Honda Element SC make functionality stylish. Both models feature a clean-lined, signature boxy body style, complete with an extremely sturdy clamshell tailgate created to withstand very heavy loads and wide-opening side cargo doors that make loading things or people into the 74.6 cubic feet of cargo space a breeze. The Element handles beautifully on any road with its low amount of rolling resistance and lightweight 16-inch alloy wheels (EX). Or, if you want a bolder, more urbane ride, the Element SC comes with a lower ride height and exclusive bumper, grille, and standard 18-inch alloy wheels with low-profile P225/55 R18 tires, perfectly designed for chicly cruising around town both day and night.

Versatility and utility meet trendy and technology in the interiors of the 2010 Honda Element and 2010 Honda Element SC. In both models, you have your pick of an astounding 64 different space options inside since the configurable seating lets you flip or fold the rear seats out of the way, or even remove the rear seats completely if you so choose. The overhead storage console (Element EX and Element SC) allows you space to store everything you could need, whether you are moving to a new place or just headed off on a trip with friends.

The Element's interior comes with either a 4-speaker 120-watt AM/FM/CD sound system (LX) or a 7-speaker 270-watt AM/FM/CD/XM Satellite Radio sound system with MP3/auxiliary input jack and subwoofer (EX). The interior also makes driving and cleaning up easy with a novel center-stacked instrument panel with large gauges that are easy for the driver to read; a black, urethane-coated, easy-to-clean utility floor that is almost impossible to scratch or pierce; and stain- and water-resistant FXC (Fabric for Extreme Conditions) seat cloth on the front seats in the LX and on both the front and rear seats in the EX. Additionally, the EX model features a center console with removable cooler to keep your drink chilled and an available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System, complete with voice recognition, USB Audio Interface, and rearview camera, to keep you safe, entertained, and on-course to any of the system's 7,000,000 destinations. You can even equip your EX model with the Dog Friendly Package, which includes exclusive exterior badging, special dog-pattern seat covers and all-season "Dog-Bone" rubber floor mats, stowable aluminum ramp, spill-resistant water bowl, electric fan, rear car kennel, pet bed, tote bag, and many more perks for your four-legged friend.

By contrast, the Element SC's interior ups the style factor even more. Copper-colored backlit instrument panel lighting casts a trendy glow, while piano-black interior trim and black carpeting give the cabin a plush yet dramatic feel. The SC features an exclusive seat fabric pattern that is different in each and every vehicle, letting your own uniqueness shine through. Standard on the SC is a 7-speaker 270-watt AM/FM/CD sound system capable of playing MP3 or Windows Media Audio (WMA)-compatible CDs; an MP3/auxiliary input jack; and a 12-volt power outlet, the latter two of which are conveniently placed within easy reach in the center console. All of this gives the Element SC a flair and level of comfort that no other make or model can match.

As can be easily seen in all their numerous safety features and award-winning performance, safety is a major priority in the 2010 Honda Element and 2010 Honda Element SC. During an emergency, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) detects the presence of understeer or oversteer and modifies each wheel's brake pressure and/or decreases power to the engine, allowing you to get the Element back under control. The standard 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes (ABS), complete with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, help you if you have to brake hard for any reason, all while letting you maintain control at all times. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) gives you a warning when the tire pressure in any of your tires hits an appreciably low level. Built with reinforced, highly rigid unit-body construction; side-impact door beams; and front and rear crush zones, the Element also comes with six standard airbags: Dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags; front side airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS); and side curtain airbags. In addition, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) chose it as a 2010 "TOP SAFETY PICK" because it does "the best job of protecting people in front, side, rear, and now [for 2010] rollover crashes" and was awarded a 5-star frontal- and 5-star side-impact crash safety rating in NHTSA testing, the highest score possible, making the Element one of the safest vehicles on the road today.

And if that was not enough, the 2010 Element is also environmentally friendly. Capable of a surprising 20 city/25 mpg highway, the Element runs on regular unleaded gas; comes with i-VTEC® technology; and features 5-speed automatic transmission gear ratios that allow the Element to have the perfect balance of low emissions, driving performance, and fuel efficiency. All of this easily explains why Honda was named "Greenest Automaker" by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) for the fourth time in a row and why being green has never been easier or trendier.
